Vicky Leandros, a Greek singer, is a renowned European artist and the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1972. She was born on the island of Corfu in a family of singer and composer Leo Leandros, known by his stage name Leandros Papathanassiou. From 1958, she lived in Germany with her father. In 1965, she released her first single, "Messer, Gabel, Schere, Licht," which brought her fame. In 1967, she received an offer to represent Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest, where she secured the fourth place with the song "L'amour est bleu," performing under the name Vicky. The song became an international hit, marking the start of her long-lasting popularity in many countries worldwide.

In 1971, Vicky Leandros received the "Bronze Rose of Montreux" award for her television show "Ich Bin." In 1972, she once again represented Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest and won first place with the song "Après Toi," which sold over 10 million copies worldwide.
